After a really big fight at home, Lilah left, and ran into town. It was pouring, but it felt good against her hot skin. She wound up finding her way into the diner, sheltered from the downfall of tears from the sky. Lilah pushed hair from sticking on her face, and then ran a hand over an old scar on her arm, something she always did when she was anxious.

Bentley sat alone at a table in the back of the diner... The only other open seat in the busy resteraunt was across from him.
He was unaware of this fact though. Ben stared at a menu through his typical sunglasses, unable to read any of the items, but convincingly giving the illusion that he could.

Lilah made her way over to the mysterious guy in the back, making sure Jessie was no where in sight. He had practice, but she had to make sure.
"Hi... is this seat taken?" She asked, trying to fix herself, considering the fact that the whole 'drowned rat' look wasnt very "in".

"Does it look like it's taken?"
Bentley realized this statement sounded rather rude... But he didn't say it to be rude, he said it because he didn't know.

"Well..." Lilah started, but stopped looking around again. "I'm sorry to bother you... There's just no where else to sit." She winced.

He shrugged, all the while still not putting down the menu.
"Go ahead."

Lilah hesitated, but sat down, knowing she couldnt face that storm again. She studied him, then asked, "Light problems or something?"

"Or something."

"Sorry, i... i dont mean to bother you." She apologized, sinking into her seat. She started rubbing the scar again, running her fingers up the length of her forearm.

Guess we should be more polite... He closed the menu.
"It's fine, I'm just not used to meeting new people."

Since Bentley couldn't see her hand, he didn't shake it.
"Bentley Baker."

Lilah awkwardly pulled her hand back, scratching the back of her neck. "Nice to meet you... You ordering anything?"

Alas! An excuse to open the menu back up.
So he did.
"Haven't decided yet."

Lilah nodded, pulling her phone out. She stared at the green screen, frustration setting over her. A broken phone. Great. Another fight she'll get her parents in. In another second, she thought she heard his voice; she turned around, but it was just some guy laughing with his friend. She took a breath of relief and relaxed. Lilah didnt even want to think about what Jessie would do if he saw her sitting with another guy.
"So... you go to the public school? I havent seen you around at the Academy..."
