Jamie wandered into the hospital at 3 in the morning. It had been 4 weeks since he was last there; since he shattered his hand. Considering how bizarre and twisted up it had gotten, he figured it was about time to get it checked out.
The orthopedist said he'd dislocated three knuckles and fractured his thumb. She also said it was a miracle he was able to use his hand, and she had no explanation for how he went so long with the pain (In reality, Jamie had been numbing the pain on his own time).
The doc patched him up with splints and a temporary cast, and sent him on his way.
"You'll need to be in that for six weeks, James. Take care of yourself. Don't go punching anymore walls."
"Thanks, Doctor Cramer." Jamie mumbled as he walked out of the office.
