Jamie stood at the age of the water on the only beach in Pasadena. He hadn't been at the beach since he met Ronnie 5 months ago, and she had gone away with her dad again.
And he missed her, a lot. It'd been 3 weeks since he woke up from his month long coma. He was in a lot of pain. All these fights with Maddie were getting to him, and Gabe... Well, Jamie hadn't seen him since before his relapse.
Jamie missed him. He missed him almost more than he missed Ronnie. And he had been drinking alone at the beach, and he'd been there for almost 3 hours, and the several vodka bottles lay on the sand some 4 yards behind him. Now he stood at the edge of the water, and he couldn't remember the last time he'd been in it, but a part of him knew it was this same situation a year and a half ago.

It had been days since... Since that night Gabe couldn't seem to forget. One second, everything is perfect. Jamie is there.
The next, he's gone. In the Hospital. OD. Gabe couldn't bring himself to visit his friend while he was there. So when he saw Jamie sitting on the beach, it was reluctanly that he walked up.
"Hey." He greeted blankly.

"Gabe?" Jamie's vision was slightly blurred as he turned to face his best friend.
"I'm sorry. I'm so so so so sooo sorry."

Gabe pays no attention to the slurring... The apology. Only one thing played in his head.
"Was this because of me?"

"No." Jamie shook his head. That was a bad idea. He staggered backwards a couple of feet and fell down into a sitting position in the sand.
"I did it. It was me. It was all my fault."

That fall pulled Gabe into his usual senses.
"Dammit, Jame, you're drunk..."

"Yeah, that happens sometimes." Jamie lay back in the sand, the water of the sea brushing up into his hair and scalp. It was so cold at this time of night.
"I would've saved some for you if I knew you were coming." He gestured lazily to the assorted bottles of hard liquor lying a couple feet away.

"Jamie, you shouldn't be drinking that much..." Gabe sat next to him, pulling Jamie up and keeping his hands on Jamie's shoulders to keep him steady.
"You'll relapse."

"I won't..." Jamie fought out of Gabe's grasp and curled up into the sand, the back of his head still getting attacked by the tide. But Jamie didn't mind. The booze had increased his body temperature. The freezing temperature of the ocean was refreshing.
"I don't want to go home."

Gabe pulled Jamie back up, holding him up in a full out hug-style grab. He looked into his inebriated friend's eyes feeling... Feeling like he wanted it again. The one dose wasn't enough for him.
Jamie almost made no reaction as Gabe pulled him closer, pressing their lips together. His friend tasted heavily of liquor... and something Gabriel decided was just Jamie-taste.

Jamie could barely recognize who it was he was kissing. He was so insanely wasted that it didn't matter. He wasn't in control of the situation, and if it meant he didn't have to go home he would sit there on the beach making out with the stranger all night.
Part of his mind knew it was Gabe. Another part of his mind said it wasn't, and a third part of his mind said it was Ronnie. He was so confused and disoriented that it really didn't matter. He didn't care, as long as he didn't have to leave the sand and water and pretend to be sober when going home.

Jamie still didn't react. In a way, he almost pulled closer... And that was all the confirmation Gabe needed. In the back of his head, Gabe knew this was wrong... But he didn't care. Jamie wasted his time with dangerous self-indulgence.
Gabe's turn. He slid his hand up Jamie's shirt, feeling his friend's warm skin.

Jamie was still confused, but now reciprocated the kiss. He still wasn't sure who he was kissing, but it was nice all the same. When the person Jamie was with, he felt the calloused hands of someone... Familiar. But who was it? God, he was so far gone.
Whoever it wash holding him up, it didn't really matter. He fell backwards, pulling the person on top of him, and continued kissing the stranger.

There. Feeling. Gabriel was getting something out of Jamie, who he now was laying on top of. Gabe pulled up only long enough to bring Jamie's shirt off over his head, before removing his own.

Jamie felt his bare back fall against the cool warm sand. It was so comfortable, and he was so boozed up... He opened his eyes briefly, but his eyelids were so heavy, he couldn't keep them open for more than 3 seconds.
He saw the vague and blurry figure sitting on top of him, and that was the last thing he saw before his eyes closed and he passed out cold.
